School closure: Update on the 2018-2020 EEF-funded RME trial
Information for all RME trial schools, control or intervention, posted 19th March 2020 (updated, 6th April 2020)
We hope you and your students are all well at this challenging time. The closure of schools in England on 18th March 2020 has resulted in some adjustments to the RME trial. The immediate details are:
Conducting the GL Assessment test planned for June/July depends on whether schools stay closed into the summer term or not. We will provide an update when the situation post-Easter becomes clearer. We are expecting to provide an update at the end of April 2020.
Given the rapidly evolving situation, we will be maintaining an ongoing discussion with the funder, the Education Endowment Foundation, and the Independent Evaluators at Sheffield Hallam University. We will send relevant updates to schools by email and we will also share them here.
Please do contact us at email@example.com if we can be of any help or if you have any questions or comments.

- Training Day 8 will no longer take place in April. We are working on some alternative online events in May for those who would like to join and are able to. We will also be putting online some of the resources we would have explored at Training Day 8. Watch this space for further details following Easter.
- The final module, Algebra for Year 8 (Challenging Gradient, on linear graphs), is now available at the module materials page.
Please do contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if we can be of any help or if you have any questions or comments. In the meantime, if you are working with students, please continue to use relevant RME approaches, materials, and the retrieval tasks.
Thank you for your work on and support of the RME trial.
